Denim on 2016: Young and wild generations
The Fashion Institute of Technology fit in New York city showed last December the “Denim Fashion’s Frontier”, an exposition of the most trendy and contemporary material in the fashion world: denim. As it is known, denim has been a flag that speaks the dreams and rebellion of the young generations.
Denim has climbed thru the fashion pyramid so fast thanks to icons like James Dean and Marlon Brando, and then jumped into every women’s closet, thanks to campaigns from brands like Calvin Klein that had Brooke Shields as their star back in the 80’s.
Although we think in jeans as basic clothing, trending is also influencing this textile. For spring 2016, we’ll be seeing interesting proposals regarding tints, washes, embroideries and heat transfer designs.
Ashish brand is introducing a great influence with the DIY (do it yourself) movement, using studs and cutouts on the embroidered edges. Another trending is the stamped denim from Channel or the frayed look from Chloé and Marques Almeida or flower colored retro embroideries from Holly Fulton. Also, there’s a strong inspiration from the 80’s on Marc Jacobs’ collection with washed denim jeans or light colors from Roberto Cavalli.
Even if it is a glam or casual occasion, denim is always a great option for every fashion season.
Grupo Denim, a great manufacturing company located in Laguna, México is so successful on developing any kind of new or renewed style, brands’ representatives visit them from all around the world, looking for the best finishes or even new designs from their own. “We work with the best brands in the market, we also get contracts from production that was placed in Asia because right now the customers are looking for a faster delivery dates and easiest logistics to their warehouses, they find all of that with us”, said Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal.
